Holy cow, September is flying by! There is much to share; a renovated bathroom, a repainted living room, the beginnings of school and activities and all that. Most of my pictures though simply reflect the little daily moments that could be any day. There have been lots of those to treasure.

New car. Not ours, just keeping busy while waiting for emissions testing.

With apologies, I don't know where the time goes. I'm also lacking decent pictures lately, so I'm going to try to backfill with some highlights before the month is over. We've been home for a week or so now, catching up on the usual things, planning new projects, and even squeezed in a beach day!

I love how kids find endless amusement in unlikely places. We've been chauffeuring my mom to physical therapy (shoulder surgery) and the kids just love love love the lobby of the building it is in. Passing a half hour here is easy with stairs to climb and elevators to ride. Who needs summer camp?

This summer has gone to the ...dog! Whatever free time I thought I had has now completely vaporized since we adopted Chester here. Honestly I haven't written about him yet, though we've had him about 2 weeks, because I'm still rather undecided about how I feel about the Dog subject in general. There is nothing out there that could have prepared this Cat person for just how needy (and slightly moronic) a 3 month old puppy is. But the kids are smitten and frankly Don is doing a ton of the work....so yeah, I'll keep you posted.
In other news, I got a new phone! Very exciting, and it takes lovely pictures. Just need to find the right app to make blog posts here because my old system doesn't work on the new phone, so I'm back writing this on my old one. More complicated than it needs to be.
Without further chatter are a few pictures to catch up here:

Yes, I think I am sure of it now. Daily blogging is easier than weekly blogging. June was a great success, I think, in the exercise of recording something each day, and now here we are a week into July. I actually haven't taken many pictures this week. We are traveling, sort of, and I'm still not quite sure what day of the week it is. I can tell you that the fireworks were spectacular on Independence Day

You know, I think the most rewarding aspect of having four children is watching their relationships with each other develop. In the course of a day when we are all home together they move in and out of different activities - sometimes all together, sometimes paired off. I love watching the how their games vary depending on who the playmate is.

Summertime... And time to move some furniture! We are trying a new room and roommate arrangement, for now. C and A decided they wanted to share a room, so a few quick changes in Amy's room made that pretty easy.
It was a fun day of us all just playing around upstairs, cleaning, sorting, all those good things.
Now that C's room is vacant it gives me a good chance to paint her closet and also paint all the trim in her room. After that sprucing, I'm going to move M in there, which means we will have the master to ourselves again! Imagine! I figure we can review room assignments anytime, really, and in a year or so C and A might want their own rooms back, and by then M should be old enough to go share with W. Funny, A and W shared from the time W was eight months old straight through the next 5+ years and I never thought much of it, but now that everyone has been separate for a bit it seems like a big consideration to figure out who will sleep best with whom. Ah, first-world problems.
Oh, and lastly, new room enthusiasm had all four kids building a blanket fort well into the evening:
