Continuing on! Another big mid-October activity, taking advantage of the nice weather, was digging a new garden bed along our front walk, in which to plant lots of spring bulbs. This was a promise I made to myself last spring, and so far it turned out just as I wanted.
The day I actually got the bulbs in though I'll also remember as the day poor William broke his arm!
Poor guy lost his grip when hanging from a tree branch and dropped before he was ready (as though he were on monkey bars) and landed on his elbow. The excruciating pain he was in was the tip off that an ER visit was in order. He needed follow up x-rays a few days later for a better picture but the end story was a very minor fracture near his elbow, but one that would, and did, heal well enough with just a splint and rest for a couple weeks. Stressful at the time, but now that it's behind us not a terribly big deal. He was a trooper!
Let's see what else that week...
A whole lot of silly business, some computer obsession, gorgeous fall colors, and a HUUUGE Husky: Matthew spotted the big guy at AC Moore and HAD to get him, recognizing him as the biggest brother to William's two smaller husky best friends. Matthew describes pretty much everything big as HOOOGE in such an awed way that the word has become part of our family lexicon now. So naturally HUGE Husky had to come home. Word is he is asking Santa for a Huge bear for Christmas.
